Is This Really Group Work ?

Coming in today my aim was to complete which I could no do at home such as more mannequin work, printing & photocopying as development. I also wanted where my group was with their own personal development and look at other groups progress and work as a way to compare to push us further. 

Starting off today I had the mind set that everyone was doing their own thing and looking at for their self which was very annoying and meant I had to work ten times harder. I thought the whole point of the group work is to get a sense of how the industry would be where everyone had their set roles and we all relay on each other In order to get the work done. It's also meant to spend up the process for everyone as they get to concentrate on just their area. Like me for example, I am the designer in the group along side two others which means I'll meanly be working with the others to ensure that although we all have are different themes we are still or on the same page in sense of the overall look. I'll also be working very closely with the textiles to designer. As she'll be looking at my work as a source or direction and inspiration. Then we all come together an bring are finished out final concept to the promotion team member so she can then design the right feel for are concept. But this was not what was happening. 

I decided to call a group meeting at 2:30pm to work on the 'issues' within the group in order to get this project done and to a great quality. This was due to having a tutor speak to us one on one confirming that we're not working as a group. After the meeting I think a few things were sorted out and nearly one one understood the whole point of the project and I'm starting to feel like we're on the same page now (although some on a different paragraph). 

As for my own personally development and work and started to do my initial designs and I've made samples from these designs which I've started to play with and explore using the mannequin to create designs as a way to further develop ideas and start to think about her certain sections within my design could be created.

I'm enjoying the whole idea of this project  and I like that fact that I'm working within a fashion house which means most things are already done for me such as the branding and unique selling point.
